Critical Care Medicine (CCM)

Critical Care Medicine (CCM), also known as Intensive Care Medicine, is a specialized branch of medicine that focuses on the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries. This includes severe infections, respiratory failure, cardiac emergencies, trauma, and multi-organ dysfunction.

Critical care specialists work in intensive care units (ICUs) to provide advanced life support, continuous monitoring, and complex interventions using cutting-edge technology and evidence-based protocols. CCM plays a vital role in stabilizing critically ill patients, preventing complications, and improving survival and recovery outcomes.
